Second case of polio in Delhi

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Government’s Health Department has confirmed the detection of a second case of polio in Delhi. The first case was confirmed this past October.
According to senior health officials, the second case was detected at Seemapuri in East Delhi recently. The officials said a two-year-old boy was admitted to GTB Hospital and is reported to be suffering from P-III strain of polio. Health Minister Yoganand Shastri on Wednesday said: “The Delhi Government is seeking assistance from the Centre to ensure more effective protection against polio.”
