Two arrested after encounter

NEW DELHI: Two persons have been arrested by the Special Cell of the Delhi police for alleged involvement in several criminal cases.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team laid a trap on Wazirabad Road on Tuesday afternoon and arrested Shakeel and Shabab after a brief encounter. Shakeel carried a cash reward of Rs.50,000 on his head and was wanted in connection with the kidnapping and murder of one Sameer of Gokalpuri, the police said.

Shabad, a resident of Ghaziabad, allegedly joined a gang in 2000 and started committing petty crimes.
