Tension during temple festival

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: There was tension in Kereguddadahalli for a while on Tuesday during a temple festival.

The police said that devotees were bursting crackers during the Annamma utsava procession when a passer-by raised objections.

Though the police intervened, tension prevailed for some time.

Meanwhile, two persons barged into Mahadev’s house in the same village at around 9 p.m. on Tuesday and threatened him and his family members.

The police suspect it could be because of rivalry.

A case has been registered and the police are investigating.

On the same day, three persons assaulted N. Madhava Rao, who was standing near the Ashwatta Katte, Janata Colony, at Kereguddadahalli.

The police said that Mr. Rao was assaulted with clubs.

A case has been registered.

Burglary

A house in Dasappa Layout, coming under Ramamurthynagar Police Station limits, was burgled.

The crime came to light when the house owner Murali Kumar returned from his native Kolar Gold Fields on Tuesday.

The police said the rear door of the house had been broken open.

In his complaint, Mr. Kumar has said that gold jewellery valued at Rs. 25,000 had gone missing in the incident.

A case has been registered.
