Factory worker killed after gas leak

Bhadohi (Bihar): A labourer was killed and three others were hospitalised after toxic gas leaked from a carpet factory here, triggering protests by locals and employees of the unit on Thursday. The four factory workers, sleeping in the hall of OBT Private Limited in Gopalganj area, were taken ill on inhaling gas that leaked from the unit and rushed to a hospital where one of them died, Deputy Superintendent of Police Anurag Darshan said. Carrying the body of the victim, employees of the factory and locals of the area protested before the factory gates in the afternoon. They were later pacified when the factory manager assured Rs 1.5 lakh as ex-gratia.
