Convicted for burglary

VANIYAMBADI: A 45-year-old person was convicted on Thursday for burglary at Thoraieri in Chettiapanoor.

Dayanidhi was accused of stealing jewellery worth Rs. 25,000 from the house of Ramadoss on September 1, 2006. Ramadoss lodged a complaint at the Vaniyambadi taluk police station, based on which the police arrested Dayanidhi and produced him at the Vaniyambadi court.

The accused confessed to having committed the crime and the Magistrate sentenced him to one year in jail.
