BANGALORE: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s core committee comprising prominent leaders will hold a brainstorming session on Friday to finalise poll strategy. According to sources, the party’s national vice-president and Karnataka in-charge, Yashwant Sinha, will participate in the meeting. It will be attended, among others, by BJP State unit leaders B.S. Yeddyurappa, H.N. Ananth Kumar, D.V. Sadananda Gowda, D.H. Shankaramurthy and some former Ministers. The meeting is expected to take stock of recent political developments, including reports that presidential assent might soon be accorded for the delimitation of constituencies. Another brainstorming session will be held in the first week of January, sources said. In these sessions, the party is expected to discuss the outlines of its election manifesto and the campaign style, besides crucial issues such as the parameters for selection of candidates for the coming elections to the Legislative Assembly. Joins partyKannada actor, director and producer Madan Patel joined the BJP on Thursday along with his supporters at a function organised here. Speaking on the occasion, national general secretary Ananth Kumar urged the Congress to face elections at the earliest instead of seeking to delay them. He said a delegation of the State BJP leaders would soon submit memorandums to the President and the Prime Minister appealing to them to hold the elections in February.
