Course of action will be announced only after January 14

Bangalore: The M.P. Prakash faction of the Janata Dal (Secular) has put off a decision on which party to join: the Congress, the Bharatiya Janata Party or the Bahujan Samaj Party.
A meeting of nearly 20 former legislators led by Mr. Prakash, former Deputy Chief Minister, decided to announce their decision after January 14.
While one section of the legislators wants to join the Congress, another group is keen on the BJP.
The senior Congress leader and Union Minister Oscar Fernandes and the former Chief Minister B.S. Yedyurappa are in touch with Mr. Prakash in an attempt to woo the group.
After the brief meeting on Thursday, Mr. Prakash told presspersons, “We are not in a hurry to decide on the party we will join. A majority of leaders say that Dhanur Masa (December 18 to January 14) is not the time for such important decisions. Hence, we will spell out our decision after January 14.”
The group has also decided to “wait and watch” since the recommendations of the Kuldip Singh Commission on delimitation of constituencies are likely to be implemented in January.
