Shimla fire claims three members of a family

SHIMLA: Three members of a family, including a teenager, were killed and four others suffered burn injuries in a fire in a house in Junga locality here. Rajendra Kumar (32), his wife Reena Devi (28) and daughter Sarika (one-and-a-half year) could not escape the fire in their wooden house around 01.30 am and died on the spot, station fire officer S S Pundir said.

Four others, including a retired employee of Post and Telegraph department, received severe burn injuries and they have been admitted to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) here, he said.

A fire tender was rushed. But due to bad road conditions, it could not reach the spot. - PTI
