Infrastructure growth slumps

NEW DELHI: The growth rate of six core infrastructure industries slumped to 4.5 per cent in October from 9.9 per cent posted for the same month in 2006, mainly owing to a sharp decline in production of crude petroleum and petroleum refinery coupled with a marked slide in electricity generation, according to official data released here on Thursday.
