Suven Life gets U.S. patent

HYDERABAD: Suven Life Sciences announced here on Thursday that the U.S. Patent office had granted the first product patent to the company. The granted claims of the patent included the class of selective Serotonin receptor affinity compounds discovered by Suven and were being developed as therapeutic agents, says a release. According to the invention ‘711 patent disclosure’, the compounds were useful in the treatment of neuro-degenarative disorders like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Schizo- phrenia and Huntington’s. — Special Correspondent
