Stunning win for Karnataka

HYDERABAD: Karnataka recorded a stunning, 16-run win over Mumbai in the quarterfinals of the all-India Cooch Behar Trophy (under-19) cricket tournament at the Gymkhana Grounds here on Thursday.

Mumbai, which resumed at it’s overnight score of six for one and needing another 71 runs for victory, was bundled out for 60 in 32.4 overs with Aditya B. Sagar (seven for 22) and A. Mithun (three for 22) being the main wicket-takers.

The scores: At Gymkhana: Karnataka 154 & 165 bt Mumbai 243 & 60 (Aditya B. Sagar seven for 22, A. Mithun three for 22).

At ECIL: Bengal 287 & 245 lost to Tamil Nadu 316 & 217 for three in 62.3 overs (R. Prashanth 103 not out, N. Einstein 37).
