Equestrian team events today

CHENNAI: The team event of the CSI ‘Y’ international equestrian championship will held on Friday. The foreign participation comprises Japan, Singapore and Australia apart from India which has fielded two teams, India Red and India Green, as host.

The show jumping normal will have two rounds. The first round begins at 4 p.m., which will be followed by the second round. Interestingly, Japan and Singapore have an Indian rider each in their teams to make up the numbers. The individual championship will be conducted on Saturday.

On Thursday, the riders had a trial round after the draw of lots (for the horses) were picked by the riders, after which they took a mandatory ride of 20 minutes astride their respective horses for familiarisation.

Indian teams: India Red (‘A’ team): Anant Rajpurohit, Parvesh Kumar, Aliya Das Gupta; India Green team (‘B’ team): Sudheer Singh, Nadia Haridass and Sanjana Medappa. — Sports Reporter
