High Court seeks details of absconding driver, conductor
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Wednesday asked a Blueline bus operator to furnish details of the driver and the conductor if he wanted his bus to be released.
A vacation bench of Justice Sanjeev Khanna and Justice Vipin Sanghi told the bus operator, who was personally present in the court, that it was not possible for them to believe that he was not aware of the addresses of the driver and the conductor.
The Court further told the operator that unless he gave details of the whereabouts of the driver and conductor, it would not move forward in the case.
It said it was necessary for the bus operators to ascertain the addresses and the driving licence of a person before recruiting him as a driver.
Appearing for the Delhi police, Advocate Rajdeep Behura also told the court that the police had registered a case in the accident that took place on December 2.
The person who was injured in the accident is still in hospital.
Further, the advocate told the court that non-bailable warrants had been issued against the driver and the conductor. He said the driver of the bus also tried to threaten an eyewitness.
The Court directed the bus operator to cooperate with the police in tracing the absconders.
