NAC told to use ITIs for training programmes

Academy trains 27,000 candidates in construction trade

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy has asked the National Academy of Construction (NAC) to make use of the premises and infrastructure available in the Industrial Training Institutes in the State for their training programmes.

Chairing the NAC governing council board meeting here on Thursday, Dr. Reddy said while the classes could be conducted in the morning, the premises could be used for training purpose during evenings and nights.

He said this would enable the NAC to take up massive training programme on a variety of job-oriented trades. He appreciated the NAC for training nearly 27,000 candidates in construction trades. He said that NAC was setting up 70 training centres against 28 established last year.

Dr. Reddy asked NAC officials to concentrate on training school dropouts, who would find suitable employment after training in construction related work. He approved establishment of advanced skills training institutes, construction of new PG block in the NAC premises.

NAC officials informed the Chief Minister that PG diploma courses in facilities management, building technology, high technology and project management in collaboration with JNTU had been started. Roads & Buildings Minister T. Jeevan Reddy and others attended.

Inaugurates park

Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy inaugurated G.S.Melkote Park at Narayanaguda in the city. The park was developed by HUDA in five acres of land with several amenities. The State has been giving priority to greenery in the capital city.
