Internationally acclaimed dancers to perform First seminar to have demonstrative lectures VIJAYAWADA: The three-day ‘All India Kuchipudi Dance Festival’ is commencing at Kuchipudi, the birth place of the famous dance form, in Movva mandal on Friday. The event is being organised by Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University in association with K.C.P. Cement Limited and Nuzvid Seeds. The three-day event will feature performances by a number of internationally acclaimed and reputable dancers. The first day’s performances are by film actor of yesteryears Prabha Ramesh and Sudheer and group from Warangal. There will also be an Odissy performance by well-known artiste Ileana Citaristi from Bhubaneswar. The day’s performances will come to an end with Amuktamalyada dance ballet by K.V. Satyanarayana and party from Eluru. The second day on Saturday is mainly devoted to seminars and demonstrative lectures. The first seminar from 9.30 a.m. will have demonstrative lectures by Veluri Sumitra Parthasarathi (Hyderabad), P. Ramadevi (Hyderabad) and by Vedantam Radheshyam (Kuchipudi). The second session will have lectures by Vedantam Ramalinga Sastry, R. Sudhakar and Vanaja Uday. The evening’s performances will be by P.B. Pallavi (Hyderabad), Madhavapeddi Murthy Brindam (Chennai), Bhagavathula Venkatarama Sarma (Vijayawada), ‘Sri Krishna Vijayam’ dance ballet by Vedantam Ramalinga Sastry (Kuchipudi) and ‘Bhakta Prahlada’ Yakshaganam by Vedantam Radheshyam and party (Kuchipudi).The final day will also have demonstration lectures by Chinta Adinayarana Sarma, Ratnasri, N. Lingaiah, Suvarchaladevi, Kalakrishna and G.B. Sankara Rao, all from Hyderabad.Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council chairman A. Chakrapani will inaugurate the festival at Sri Siddhendra Yogi Kuchipudi Kalapeetham at 5 p.m. on Friday.
