CHENNAI: ‘Season of Love,’ which was celebrated amidst much grandeur in the city, concluded on a colourful note at St.George Anglo Indian School, Poonamallee High Road here on Thursday. The valedictory session of the eight-day event was marked by a musical rendezvous of Rajasthani Sufi singers and Carnatic musicians along with a 16-member Symphony troupe. The show, ‘Confluence’ was aimed at breaking cultural and geographical barriers through music. Prizes were distributed to winners of various competitions such as Christmas carols and beautiful family, held during the course of the festival organised by Tamil Maiyam and Goodwill Communications. Member of the Parliament Kanimozhi was present at the function. Founder of Tamil Maiyam, Jegath Gaspar Raj said the proceeds of the festival would be used for various welfare schemes.
