Kumaraswamy’s gesture to fellow patient

BANGALORE: The former chief minister H. D. Kumaraswamy, who is recuperating in hospital after an open heart surgery for replacement of the aortic valve, on Thursday donated Rs. 1 lakh towards the medical expenses of a woman from north Karnataka who is being treated by the hospital for brain haemorrhage.
Twenty-seven-year-old Anjana Chauhan from Jamakhandi of Bagalkot taluk is being treated in the same hospital where Mr. Kumaraswamy is now recuperating. Her parents, who happened to meet Mr. Kumaraswamy on Thursday, requested his help in paying their daughter’s medical expenses.
Mr. Kumaraswamy is learnt to have paid Rs. 1 lakh for her treatment.
