Thyagaraja aradhana from January 23

THANJAVUR: The 161st annual aradhana of saint composer Sri Thyagaraja will be held at the saint’s samadhi at Tiruvaiyaru from January 23 to 27, 2008. According to G. Rangaswamy Moopanar, president of the Sri Thyagabrahma Mahotsava Sabha, pancharathna kritis will be rendered by musicians between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. on January 27. Inauguration of the aradhana will take place between 6 and 7 p.m. on January 23. — Special Correspondent
