Prithvi to meet Ankith

HYDERABAD: V. Prithvi Haas (AP) entered the boys’ under-12 final with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Statemate S.M. Osama in the semifinal of the Prince AITA Talent Series tennis tournament for boys and girls here on Thursday.

The results:

Semifinals: Boys: U-14: A. Nikhit Prasad bt Ronak Jhawar 6-3, 6-3; B. Supreeth bt M. Sai Nikhil 6-4, 6-1. Doubles: A.L. Anirudh & B. Ajay bt Gowtham & M.D. Numan 6-4, 6-3; Ronak Jhawar & B. Supreeth bt S. Gokul & L. Akash 6-1, 6-3. U-12: V. Prithvi Haas bt S.M. Osama 6-4, 6-4; M. Ankith Reddy bt Devang Singh Saxena 7-5, 7-6(4).

Girls: U-14: P. Sudheera bt D. Mahitha Reddy 6-3, 6-2; P. Vaishnavi bt D. Nayanika Reddy 6-1, 6-2. U-12: Tara Iranovic bt V. Keerthana 6-4, 6-2; D. Nayanika Reddy bt B. Moulika Ram 6-4, 6-1.

Mukesh nets brace

Striker Mukesh netted a brace to guide Trimulgherry Village ‘A’ into the semifinals of the Sudhakar memorial u-14 football tournament defeating Gandhinagar 2-1 at the Trimulgherry Village Grounds here.

Mukesh struck in the 11th and 18th minutes. For the loser, winger Charan reduced the margin.

Good spell by Aditya

Good bowling by Aditya Kaundinya (five for nine) helped Vijay Paul Cricket Academy record a nine-wicket win over Aurangabad in the u-15 category of the Santa Cup sub-juniors cricket tournament here.

U-15: Aurangabad 35 (Aditya Kaundinya five for nine) lost to VPCA 39 for one; Arshad Ayub CA 178 for seven (Ahmed 39, Mallikarjun 37, Imran three for 30) bt Denzil CA 166 for eight (Santosh 60, Himalaya 56); St. Joseph’s 112 for six (Zeeshan Ali three for 34) lost to St. John’s 113 for one (Shresht 57 not out).

U-13: St. John’s 152 for eight (Sivaprasad 46, Aman 33, Karthik four for 21) lost to St. Peter’s 155 for one (Ranjeet Kumar 60 not out, Jayasurya 58 not out).

U-11: Daniel CA 181 (Hrishi 33, Vamshi 33, Vignesh four for 16) lost to Denzil CA 182 for six (Vivek 33, N. Anirudh 30, Hrishi four for 18); Aurangabad 183 for five (Ajinkya Bhole 63) bt St. John’s 174 (Abhijeet 38, Suraj Sulane three for 25).

Techpoint wins title

Techpoint recorded a 13-run win over The Hindu in the final of the third JDA Corporate Olympiad cricket tournament here.

The scores: Techpoint 149 for six (Satish 55 not out) bt The Hindu 136 (Krishna Rao 54, Praveen five for 20).

Srinivas to lead

K. Srinivas and A. Bhargavi will lead Hyderabad in the junior boys’ and girls’ categories of the 36th junior National inter-State carrom championship in Coimbatore from December 30.

A century by Radhekrishna Yadav (114 not out, 19x4) helped Mahesh Vidya Bhavan High School ‘B’ record a 200-run win over St. Paul’s High School in the Gold Drop inter-school cricket tournament (u-15) at the Shivrampally grounds near here on Thursday.
