Delhi claims 10 more golds

NEW DELHI: Delhi wrestlers grabbed six of the seven gold medals at stake while judokas added two more to make it another fruitful day for the host in the 53rd National School Games here on Thursday.

In wrestling, Harphool (50kg), Anil Kumar (60kg), Satish Kumar (66kg), Deepak (74kg), Sandeep (96kg) and Akrant Shokken (120kg) were the winners for Delhi while Uttarakhand’s Subhash Tomar (84kg) won the remaining gold.

In judo, Delhi’s Wazia (44kg) and Punjab’s Meenakshi (36kg) claimed gold medals in the girls’ section while Delhi’s Saurabh (40kg) and Karnataka’s Yallapha (45kg) emerged winners among the boys.

In baseball, Delhi claimed the girls’ (under-14) gold by beating Madhya Pradesh 12-2. Goa took the bronze following an 11-1 triumph over Maharashtra. In the boys’ (under-19) shootingball, Delhi beat Maharashtra 16-8, 16-3 to take the gold.
