Big win for Asiatic CA

CHENNAI: Jagadeesh bagged four wickets as Asiatic CA carved out a six-wicket win over TE IPL CA in the Prahlad CA under-12 cricket tournament being held here.

The scores: TE IPL CA 75 in 29 overs (C. Akshay 25, Jagadeesh four for 14) lost to Asiatic CA 76 for four in 18.5 overs (N.R. Sutharsan 36, Sai Prakash three for 10).

Kedar CA 51 in 26.5 overs lost to CSSF 52 for five in 20.2 overs (Rishi Vaidya three for 15).

Prahlad CA ‘B’ 72 in 28.2 overs (Nitish Aravind 25) lost to J.S. Rao CA 73 for four in 12.2 overs (R. Kavin 39).

Kanniah CA 29 in 19.3 overs (S. Aravinda five for two, S. Karthik four for eight) lost to FSCA 31 for three in eight overs.

Vellore 67 for four

Vellore was 67 for four at close in reply to Tiruvallur’s 178 in the TNCA under-17 inter-district pre-quarterfinal cricket match for the P.R. Thevar Trophy at the Jaya Arts and Science College, Chennai, on Thursday.

The scores:

Pre-quarterfinals: Tiruvallur 178 in 64.5 overs (Poiya Mozhi 55, V. Naresh Babu three for 41, Rohith three for 61) vs. Vellore 67 for four in 26 overs.

Sepak takraw

The senior National sepak takraw (men and women) championship will be held from December 28 to 31 at the YMCA College of Physical Education, Nandanam, Chennai. Nearly 500 participants are expected to take part. The competition consists of team, doubles and regu events.
