KOCHI: After completing a two-day visit to the State, Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari returned to New Delhi from the Cochin International Airport on Thursday evening. He was accorded a warm farewell at the airport. Mr. Ansari, accompanied by wife Salma Ansari, took off in a special flight of the Indian Air Force at 5.15 p.m. They were received at the airport by dignitaries on their return from Thrissur by helicopter at 4.55 p.m. They thanked the gathering for the reception. Governor R.L. Bhatia; Industries Minister Elamaram Karim; V.D. Satheeshan, K. Babu, K.V. Thomas, Jose Thettayil and P.K. Ebrahim Kunju, MLAs; Mayor Mercy Williams; Chief Secretary P.J. Thomas; Vice-Admiral Sunil K. Damle, Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command; Director-General of Police Raman Srivastava; Vinson M. Paul, Inspector-General of Police (Ernakulam Range); District Collector A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish; Superintendent of Police (Ernakulam Rural) M. Padmanabhan; and airport managing director Shriram Bharath were present.
