Gang robs workers crime notes
Staff Reporter
Bangalore: Two persons were robbed by a four-member gang at around 8.30 p.m. on Wednesday near Dodanna Estate.
The Peenya police said that Raghu Kumar, Raja Reddy and Rangaswamy, employees at a garment factory, were walking back home. Mr. Raghu Kumar bid Raja Reddy and Rangaswamy goodbye and walked towards the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation depot, near the Bata factory. The four, on two motorcycles, stopped him on the pretext of asking for the way and threatened him with a knife. When Mr. Raghu Kumar resisted, they attacked him with machetes and stabbed him in the stomach with a knife. They took away Rs. 3,500 cash and a gold chain from him. The gang then asked him which way Mr. Rangaswamy and Mr. Raja Reddy were headed. They reportedly threatened them. While Mr. Rangaswamy escaped, Mr. Raja Reddy was robbed.
Burglaries
Three burglaries were reported in different parts of the city on Wednesday. Subba Rao had gone out after locking his residence in Padmanabhanagar in Banashankari Police Station limits on Wednesday. When he returned, he found jewellery and cash, estimated at Rs. 1 lakh, stolen.
The office of Chinne Gowda, a film producer, in Gandhinagar, was ransacked. The incident came to light on Thursday when the manager opened the office. The police said robbers had taken away Rs. 45,000 cash.
