Jobless man leaps to death from High Point
Staff Reporter
Madesh
Bangalore: An unemployed man committed suicide by jumping off the ninth floor of High Point, a high rise building near Basaveshwara Circle on Thursday afternoon.
The High Grounds police identified him as Madesh from Kothaganahalli village of Anekal taluk who was depressed because he did not have a job. The police found an identity card, his wallet and a piece of paper on which he had transliterated a Kannada song in English.
The victim’s relatives told the police Madesh was mentally unstable and was not keeping good health.
Shocked occupants of the building gathered in large numbers and crowded near the dead body.
The police said Madesh had fallen on the bicycle stand and died of head injuries.
In fact the building has seen at least one person plummet to death before. “This is a place that hundreds of people visit every day.
It is not possible to keep track of the people who come and go,” said one of the security personnel.
