TDP members launch protest

Correspondent

Chittoor: A novel protest of chanting ‘govinda govinda’ was held by the members of Telugu Desam Party led by M.P. Audikesavulu, M.L.A. Manohar and M.L.A. District President Amaranadha Reddy at Collector’s Office here on Friday in the absence of the Collector, Joint Collector and district revenue officer. They had gone to their office to present a memorandum after completion of dharna and rastha roko conducted in connection with Telugu Desam Praja Chaitanya Yatra.

Addressing the dharna the M.P. Audikesavulu made scathing attack on Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for ditching the drinking water project sanctioned by the earlier TDP government to bring water from Kalyani dam, Tirupati to NTR jalasayam near Kalavagunta through pipeline to solve the acute drinking water scarcity problem in Chittoor Town. He further charged that the district head quarters hospital which was one of the best hospital in the State had degraded to the lowest ebb. There were no doctors and medicines in the hospital. As a result the patients are faced hardships to get medical aid. The street side drains are not maintained properly by the municipal authorities as a result the water is gushing out into the streets which is the cause of several diseases.

They charged that the funds in the municipalities are swindled by the authorities with false bills without doing any work.
