3.94 lakh children to get polio vaccine

MALAPPURAM: More than 3.94 lakh children in the district are expected to be given the pulse polio vaccine on January 6 as part of the national polio eradication project.

A meeting of officials at the Collectorate conference hall here on Friday gave shape to an action panel to ensure smooth administration of the vaccine.

District Collector Sumana N. Menon presided over the meeting. P.S. Amina, Social Welfare Officer; K. Subramanian, programme officer of the Integrated Child Development Scheme; A. Sukumaran, surveillance officer of the World Health Organisation; Joju Pomson, District RCH Officer; and N.M. Sebastian, Deputy District Medical Officer; attended the meeting.
