SEEKING REGULATIONS: Sudha Sunderaman, general secretary of AIDWA, addressing autorickshaw drivers in Puducherry on Friday. — PUDUCHERRY: Autorickshaw drivers affiliated to the Puducherry unit of the Centre for Indian Trade Unions (CITU) on Friday staged a dharna to highlight their demands, including introduction of meter system . The members wanted the government to introduce meters for autorickshaws and fix a minimum fare as in the other States. They said that the step would prevent “fleecing” of commuters by a section of drivers. General secretary of All India Democratic Women’s Association Sudha Sunderaman spoke.
