Applications invited from SHG federations under MFDEF

Krishnagiri: National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has invited applications from self-help group federations and non-governmental organisations in the district for availing assistance under Micro finance Development and Equity Fund (MFDEF).
Development needs
In a release the Assistant General Manager, NABARD, V. Thirumalai, said that SHG federations could avail support from NABARD for various activities such as capacity building and problem solving, promoting special programmes to meet civic and developmental needs of SHG members, facilitating safety net mechanism for members such as microfinance, pension and remittance products.
They could also avail assistance for organising training programmes to impart new skills, facilitating participation of SHG members in the organised supply chain management and primary processing of agriculture produce, marketing of consumer products in rural areas by SHGs and acting as business facilitators.
The financial support would be provided by NABARD out of MFDEF on par with its other promotional schemes under Microfinance sector, Mr. Thirumalai added.
