Srinivasaraju is dead

Bangalore: Kannada teacher, writer, literary critic and publisher Chi. Srinivasaraju died of cardiac arrest at a hotel in Tirthahalli. He was on his way to Kuppalli for participating in a seminar on Friday. He was 66.
A postgraduate in Kannada literature, Prof. Srinivasaraju was born in 1941 at Chikkaballapur. He taught Kannada at Christ College and was responsible for the prestigious Kannada Sangha of the college. Popularly known as “Raju meshtru” among his students and others, he was a source of inspiration for many young writers. He was a published playwright, poet and translator.
He was honoured with Karnataka Sahitya Academy, Samasa, Manu, and S.V. Parameshwara Bhatta awards and the Kannada Book Authority’s Best Publication Award. He was conferred Suvarna Karnataka Rajyotsava award recently.
