‘Take action in a week’

BANGALORE: The State Government has issued a circular on Friday directing officials of all departments to take action in a week’s time on public petitions received by Governor Ramehswar Thakur at the Janata Darshan.

The circular issued by Chief Secretary P.B. Mahishi said disciplinary action would be initiated against officials who failed to take action on petitions in seven days. The officials of each department have been instructed to maintain a separate registrar for petitions. The officials were told to inform the decision taken on petitions to the petitioners’ concerned soon.

The circular instructed the officials told to take up action as per the direction given by the Advisers of the Governor. With regard to the Governor’s medical relief fund, it said the officials should take steps to hand over cheques to the needy within three days after the tahsildar’s office received it.
