A.P. Congress MLA passes away

HYDERABAD: The popular Congress leader and senior MLA from Khairatabad P. Janardhan Reddy died of cardiac arrest while proceeding to attend a party function here on Friday.

Mr. Reddy, who had alighted from his car to participate in the Congress Foundation Day celebrations in Secunderabad, collapsed while walking along with his supporters. He was rushed to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead. The 59-year-old MLA is survived by wife, four daughters and a son.

The funeral will be held at Amberpet on Saturday with police honours. Senior Congress leaders, including AICC general secretary Veerappa Moily, will attend.
