Chance to appeal against rejection of U.K. visa

They can meet a Visa Officer on January 8
CHENNAI: Students seeking entry clearance to study in the United Kingdom from south India but have been refused a visa and wish to appeal against the decision are invited to meet with a visa officer from the British Deputy High Commission in Chennai on January 9, 2008.
This opportunity is only open to those who have been refused student visas by the British Deputy High Commission, Chennai. According to a release, appointments will be booked only for those who meet the eligibility criteria, which is within 28 days from the refusal date of the visa application.
The Visa Officer will review the appeal and a decision will be made within 28 working days, in terms of upholding or overturning the decision to refuse.
Students who are eligible should contact the British Council, Chennai at 04442050600/662 or email: nim.bahadur@in.britishcouncil.org by 4.00 p.m. on January 8.
Students with appointments must bring with them a fully completed AIT 2 appeal form (included with the refusal notice); original passport; documentary evidence that addresses the reasons for refusal; and original documents to show that the course has not yet started or that they have obtained permission to join late.
