Kozhikode: Vijaya Kumar, president, Kozhikode branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) inaugurated the Zyoptic XP and UVX equipment at the Vasan Eye Care Hospital here on Saturday. Later, addressing mediapersons here on Saturday, Sreekanth Karat, medical director of the hospital said that it had the latest and most advanced Zyoptix work station. Zyoptix has been widely accepted for photo refractive correction of refractive errors like short sight, long sight and astigmatism. It is an effective and stable technique with fast visual recovery and minimal post-operative discomfort. The hospital will open new branches in Kannur in a fortnight and another one in Thrissur within a month. P.A. Unni, director-strategic planning, said that the hospital in Kozhikode had successfully completed more than 2,000 Zyoptix procedures. Saji V.K., consultant refractive surgeon and P.C. Rajagopal, Centre Head, were also present at the press meet.
