Delhi Audit wins title
NEW DELHI: Delhi Audit defeated Ministry of Finance 3-0 in the team championship final of the inter-ministry badminton tournament at the AIIMS Gymkhana here. The women’s individual title went to Annie Pawah of Ministry of Defence.
The results:
Team championship (final): Delhi Audit beat Ministry of Finance 3-0 (Arul Sundaram bt Vikram Bhasin 21-15, 21-16; Rajeev Sharma bt Pankaj Pandey 21-15, 15-21, 21-18; Vijay Sharma and Sunil Yadav bt K. P. Singh and Vikram Bhasin 21-18, 18-21, 21-19).
Third place: AIIMS beat Railway Board 3-0 (Dr. Biplab Mishra bt L. K. Dhankar 21-17, 21-17; Dr. Naval Kishore bt Praveen 21-11, 21-16; Dr. Biplab Mishra and Dr. Naval Kishore bt Lalit and Narender 21-16, 21-13).
Women: Final: Annie Pawah bt Neera Pasricha 21-16, 21-4; Third place: Malini bt Kavita 23-21, 21-19.
Veterans: Final: Jitender Kumar bt Dr. N. K. Gupta 21-16, 18-21, 24-22; Third place: V. E. Thomas bt Anil Kumar 21-0, 21-0.
