CHAMARAJANAGAR: The Government has released Rs. 1.11 crore as compensation to 2,584 farmers for the loss of sugarcane crop which was not crushed in time by the Bannari Amman and Kunthur sugar factories. The previous Janata Dal (S)-Bharatiya Janata Party coalition Government had assured sugarcane farmers that a compensation of Rs. 25,000 a hectare would be given to them to compensate the loss of the crop which was not crushed in time by the sugar factories.
