Girl saves lover from punishment

New Delhi: A rape accused has got off the hook on the alleged victim-cum-lover’s unique protest to get him justice.

The alleged rape victim defended the accused in court by denying rape and claiming that she eloped and married him. She said her parents had allegedly lodged a false rape case against her “husband”.

And to convey the message forcefully to court, the 16-year-old girl refused to return to her father’s house from a rehabilitation centre till her “husband”, Surinder Kumar, was given a clean chit.
