Newspaper gets three days for filing reply

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Assembly was told by the Speaker, Prem Singh Chaudhary, on Friday that he had given three days’ time to The Times of India -- which had been summoned on Thursday following a breach of privilege and contempt of the House motion -- for filing a reply.

The Speaker said the newspaper employees who had been summoned had presented themselves before him on time at 11 a.m. and sought three days’ time to furnish a reply. The request, he added, had been granted.
