Go for this feel-good film

Rajendra Prasad in Mee Sreyobhilashi

Film: Mee Sreyobhilashi

Cast: Rajendra Prasad, Naresh

Direction: Eshwar Reddy

Mee Sreyobhilashi is a meaningful reflection of life. Rajendra Prasad dies towards the end in Aa Naluguru and brings a change in his family and in this film, he lives to change the society, to show a few people that life is precious and beautiful.

Though the drama begins on a morose note in a documentary style, the director surprises you with the dexterity in which he handles the script.

The protagonist plays Prof. Rajaji who has lost his wife and his teenaged daughter commits suicide. He does not want this to happen to anyone else and pools in about ten people who have resolved to end their lives. He hires a bus and a drunken driver to embark on the journey to death.

One loses track of time while you relate to the crestfallen faces and characters in the bus. The dialogues aren’t hard hitting but they are simple, colloquial, well timed and make you laugh while the characters are in the face of adversity. They bring cheer and tears too.

The best part about the film is Rajendra Prasad who takes on this mission with a spirited outlook and behaviour and even deals death with an air of nonchalance.

Naresh wows you as a producer. Ali is funny and the old couple are believable. The remaining cast, the dog including do their job well. Music is good.

Technically speaking there is not much to carry home but one should watch the film for the message beautifully conveyed and expressed by Rajendra Prasad, a perfect blend of sentiment and humour handled by the director.

Kudos to the producer for believing in a drama that is truly triumphant, poignant and timeless and of course the message, ‘kill the problem, not the life.’

Watch this film for the feel good final solution.
