Land for weavers under study

CHENNAI: Allotment of land for construction of houses by members of the Anakaputhur Jute Weavers Association is under the State Government’s consideration, according to an official release.

It said the association had submitted a memorandum to the Kancheepuram Collector in 2006 with a copy to the Handlooms Secretary, requesting land for its members in the village for constructing houses.
