Rainbow in semifinals

HYDERABAD: Rainbow Club entered the semifinals of the Sudhakar Memorial under-14 football tournament, organised by Shastri Soccer Club, with a 2-0 win over Kendriya Vidyalaya (Picket) here.

Striker Karthik struck twice in the 10th and 35th minutes.

Arshad CA in final

Arshad Ayub Cricket Academy recorded a three-wicket win over St. Peter’s High School in the semifinals of the under-15 category of the Santa Cup sub-juniors cricket tournament here.

The scores: Under-11: St. John’s 92 lost to VPCA 93 for two (D.G.J. Chaitanya 59 not out).

Daniel CA 187 for six (Siddhanth Agarwal 52, Anil 30, Sujai three for 20) bt Denzil CA 142 (Sujai 35, Anil three for 20). Under-13: St. John’s 192 for seven (Lohit 47, Siva Prasad 44, Krish Kalyan 40, Sainath three for 19) bt VPCA 167 for six (Sashidhar Reddy 62, Rohit Reddy 46, Krishn Kalyan three for 32).

St. Peter’s 194 for eight (Jayasurya 56, Shaik Nafeez 47, Adarsh 32) bt Denzil CA 103 (Danish 36). Under-15: semifinals: VPCA 187 (Yatin Reddy 62, Vamshi Vardhan 45, Surya Teja 32) bt St. John’s 166 for six (Vinay Rao 64, Chaitanya Krishna 30, Vamshi Vardhan three for 26).

St. Peter’s 164 for eight (Shaibaaz Tumbi 53, Darshan Reddy 41, Ahmed three for 26) lost to Arshad Ayub CA 165 for seven (Saif 64, Ali 36 not out).

Selection trials

Ranga Reddy District Kabaddi Association will organise selection trials on December 29 at Saroornagar Jyothi Youth Club from 3.00 p.m. for sub-junior boys and girls to pick the district team for the 19th inter-district kabaddi championship (u-16) to be held here next month.
