‘Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa’ from today

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Young talent finds expression in a new weekend TV programme, “Sa Ri Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs,” scheduled to start on Saturday.

Announcing the launch here on Friday, Zee Kannada and Miditech representatives said children in the 7 to 12 age group would display their singing talent for an hour, with singer M.D. Pallavi as the anchor. The talent pool sprang from a three-day audition and 60 singers were chosen by judges Raju Ananthaswamy and Suma Shastri.

They were further whittled down to nine boys and nine girls by Hemanth Kumar and B. Jayashree. The final winners, i.e., a boy and a girl, will be selected at the end of the competition. S. Balaraj, creative director, Meditech, said: “A boy and a girl will be eliminated every week.”
