Girl sustains acid burns on face

NEW DELHI: An 18-year-old girl sustained burns on the face and neck when two young men on a motorcycle allegedly threw acid on her at Jangpura here on Thursday. Efforts are on to identify the assailants.

The incident took place around 8-30 p.m. when the two motorcycle-borne men threw acid at the girl near her house. She was rushed to Safdarjung Hospital with 20 per cent burns, the police said.

The police have registered a case and are awaiting the victim’s statement.
