Gurgaon-Faridabad road to be “Knowledge Corridor”
Special Correspondent
CHANDIGARH: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda said on Friday that the Gurgaon-Faridabad road would be developed as a “Knowledge Corridor”.
Mr. Hooda gave this assurance while interacting with Nobel laureate Rajendra Kumar Pachauri here. He also agreed to Dr. Pachauri’s suggestion to explore the possibility of setting up an institution on the pattern of the Delhi-based India Habitat Centre in Haryana.
While discussing global warming and climatic issues, Mr. Hooda said he proposed to constitute a State panel to consider these vital matters. Solar passive architecture would be developed and a clean development mechanism would be established in various sectors of the State.
Dr. Pachauri, an international authority on climate changes, appreciated the various development works being carried out by the State Government.
He emphasised the need for conservation of natural resources and making the environment pollution-free.
The development process should be eco-friendly as well as sustainable, the Chief Minister added.
