Central assistance sanctioned

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Centre has sanctioned Rs.25,000 crore for the Rashtriya Karshaka Vikas Yojana. Agricultural Production Commissioner K. Jayakumar said unlike in the case of other schemes, the State government had complete freedom in implementing it. Mr. Jayakumar was inaugurating the fourth day’s seminar at the Karshikotsavam ’07 being organised at Neyyattinkara near here by the Agricultural College. The other schemes were prepared taking into consideration the situation prevailing in north India. He said that the Kisan Sri insurance scheme would come into effect in January.
