BHUBANESWAR: Ajay Kumar Goyal, an officer of the Indian Railways Traffic Service, replaced S.S. Khurana as new General Manager of the East Coast Railway (ECoR). Mr. Khurana took over as the new member staff of Indian Railways with effect from Saturday. Prior to this assignment, Mr. Goyal was the additional member (commercial) of the Indian Railways on the Railway Board, New Delhi. He started his service from the Central Railway, Mumbai, and held several important positions like Divisional Railway Manager, Mughalsarai, Chief Safety Officer, Eastern Railway, Advisor to Passenger Marketing, Railway Board, and as Chief Operations Manager, Northern Railway, an ECR release said here. After assuming charge, Mr. Goyal elaborated that his main priorities in the first 45 days of his tenure would be achieving excellence in operations and safety. Mr. Khurana, an officer of Indian Railway Service of Electrical Engineers (IRSEE), had wide range of experience in working in several key positions during his 36 years of service. As General Manager of ECoR, he was instrumental in taking up several developmental activities.
