NEW DELHI: Two men, including a Delhi Police constable, were killed in road accidents in different parts of the Capital on Friday night. Constable Ashwani (40) was on routine patrol duty when an unidentified vehicle hit his motorcycle near Chiragh Dilli sub-way on Outer Ring Road around 10-45 p.m. He was rushed to the All-India Institute of Medical Sciences where he was declared dead on arrival. Ashwani, who was survived by wife, a son and a daughter, belonged to Alwar in Rajasthan. He was inducted into Delhi Police in 1988. The police have registered a case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving and are trying to trace the vehicle involved in the accident. Motorcyclist killedIn another accident, a 40-year-old motorcyclist was killed on the Ranjit Singh flyover around 11-30 p.m. The police said he died of head injuries. The deceased was later identified as Sushil Kumar Sharma, a resident of Palam. He had a shop in Lajpat Rai Market and was on his way back home when the accident took place. The Connaught Place police are trying to find out the cause of the accident.
