The incident occurred when over 150 students had gone for an excursion Mumbai: A secondary school teacher working in a school at suburban Vakola was booked for allegedly assaulting students while on a picnic in the Raigad district, police said on Saturday. The incident occurred when over 150 students from class VIII and IX of the Pathak Technical School had gone for an excursion in the forest near the Karjat town last week. “On Wednesday night the touring party was staying in a government rest house in the forest and the children were refusing to sleep. They kept on howling and making noises about ‘ghost’,” a senior official of the Vakola police station said. In order to keep the situation under control, one of the teachers allegedly caned some students. InjuriesThe tour ended on schedule the next day and a student approached the Vakola police on Thursday. “He has suffered simple injuries and the injury marks were visible on his body.” A complaint was hence filed at the Karjat police station yesterday where the offence has occurred and further investigations are on.
