Delhi shivers at 3.9 degree Celsius

New Year likely to be chilly, says weatherman

New Delhi: It was another chilly morning for the Capital’s denizens on Saturday as mercury plummeted to the season’s lowest of 3.9 degree Celsius.

Sharp dip

Saturday’s minimum temperature, which is three notches below the normal at this point of time of the year, recorded a sharp dip from Friday’s 6.5 degree Celsius.

The maximum was recorded at 22 degree Celsius Friday.

The previous lowest of the Capital this season was 4.2 degree Celsius which was recorded on December 19.

The weatherman predicted that the Capital is likely to shiver for a couple of days with minimum hovering around four degree Celsius with a dose of fog in the morning.

“The New Year is likely to be chilly and the minimum temperature is likely to be around four degree Celsius on the first two days of the next year. The maximum is also likely to drop by one or two degrees to 20 degrees,” an official said.

Rise in min imum

The week also witnessed a rise in the minimum, oscillating between 4.8 degree Celsius and 11 degrees.
