Evangelist K.A.Paul held

HYDERABAD: Evangelist K.A. Paul, who was staging a protest demonstration at Maruti Gardens in Nampally, accusing the Government of withholding flow of funds to his charitable trust was taken into preventive custody on Saturday night.

The Nampally police said that he did not secure permission to stage the demonstration. He allegedly brought along with him nearly 800 schoolchildren.

He alleged that the Government is doing injustice to schoolchildren by stopping funds to his trust, which is running the school at Sadashivpet in Medak district.

He was arrested under Section 161 of Criminal Procedure Code, the police said.
