House burgled at Nuzvid

Police suspect that the victim might have forgotten to close the doors


NUZVID: Thieves gained entry into the house of a petrol bunk owner near here on Saturday and decamped with jewellery worth Rs. 3 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh.

The Nuzvid police said K. Vijayakrishna Kumar Vikram, a resident of Ammavari Thota in Nuzvid returned home from Hyderabad on Friday night.

Mr. Vikram and his family members discussed family matters till late hours in the night.

Gold missing

Mr. Vikram, who woke up around 3.45 a.m. to attend a nature call, found that some unknown persons had entered his house, opened the almirah and decamped with valuables.

He immediately alerted the police.

The police suspected that the victim and his family members might have forgotten to close the doors, as there were no signs of forcible entry.

The police, quoting victim’s complaint, said 65 sovereigns of gold was missing.
